FRANÇOIS LELEUX’S CONDUCTING DEBUT IN SPAIN

François Leleux concludes his residency with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife conducting an all-French programme featuring music by Debussy and Ravel. This time Francois shares the stage with the Latvian pianist Vestard Shimkus who performs Debussy’s Fantaisie for piano and orchestra. Earlier this season François has appeared with a number of important European orchestras in a double role of conductor and soloist, which includes concerts with hr-frankfurt, Oslo Philharmonic, CBSO, Tonkünstler Orchestra and Berner Symphonieorchester.

François later travels to Salzburg in June to play-direct the Camerata Salzburg in two concerts. On 21 June, a programme of Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks, Strauss’ Oboe Concerto and Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht. The programme is repeated on 22 June plus Debussy’s Préludes, Mozart’s Oboe Concerto and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.2 performed by Alexander Liebreich.
