Masterclass with François Leleux in Eisenstadt

On September 10, François Leleux will conduct a masterclass that will span 4 days and will also feature in two concerts.

François Leleux has been invited to perform in concert and lead a master class for the newly established Herbstgold Festival. The festival takes place in Eisenstadt, Austria at the Schloss Esterházy, where music and gourmet food are paired to create an experience for all of the senses.  This year’s theme is revolution; Haydn’s musical revolution coincided with the French Revolution, which in turn inspired Beethoven in his compositions. Works by Schubert, and Mozart – who were also guests at the palace – are also explored in this multi-faceted programme. Mr. Leleux conducts and performs a concert of Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert works, including: Symphony No. 49 in F Minor „La Passione“ and Concert for Oboe and Orchestra C Major (Haydn), Overture to Coriolan, Op. 62 (Beethoven), and Symphony No. 4 in C Minor “Tragische“ (Schubert).  The concert takes place at the Haydnsaal on September 13, and his masterclass for young oboists begins on September 10. As a teacher at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, Mr. Leleux combines both his experience as a teacher and performer to help guide the next generation of classical musicians.  Students that are selected will not only participate in the four day masterclass, but will also have the opportunity to attend rehearsals.  Applications are still being accepted via email: [email protected] (Deadline: June 30).
