Oboist and conductor François Leleux has been announced as the 2016/17 Artist in Residence with the hr-Sinfonieorchester at the orchestra’s season launch today.
As part of the residency François will appear in Frankfurt several times throughout the season. In October and January he will perform as soloist in concerts with Chief Conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada – the concerts in October feature the premiere of a new oboe concerto by Michael Jarrell. In January he will be joined by violinist Lisa Batiashvili to perform Thierry Escaich’s Double Concerto. In April, François returns to Frankfurt to perform chamber music with members of the hr-Sinfonieorchester. In May 2017 he closes his residency with a play-conduct concert, performing a programme of works by Mozart, Lebrun, Faure and Prokofiev.
